At first I thought it was ironic, but now I'm wondering if it is a message that's perfectly suited for this holiday home where I'm currently residing.

Hypocrisy
Australia's drug laws look hypocritical in this screenshot from a local news website.
On one side is news an estimated (and likely exaggerated) $5,500,000 worth of cannabis has been seized; on the the other side is news that cannabis is being imported "but some ask why Australia can't grow its own."
In case you're wondering, the grey boxes were placed there by me for focus.

Ansell LifeStyles condoms suck
Consider this a public service announcement: Ansell LifeStyles brand condoms break more than any other brand I've used.
Presumably the "added value" they promote on the box is the result of unplanned pregnancies.

The original Rainbow Warrior

Pemulway is a fascinating character in Australian history. An Aboriginal who fought against European settlement, he's since come to be presented as a kind of Robin Hood character but one wonders if he wouldn't also be described as a terrorist.
There's now a suburb named Pemulway in outer Sydney and it seems somewhat ironic that one who fought so hard against colonisation should now be remembered this way.

The Hermit

Recently I saw a play about Griffith's hermit, written by Scott Howie and Matt Schulz. The play was okay but what really got my attention were the photos in the Griffith Theatre's foyer of how the cave looked when the hermit lived there. He had extensive gardens and rockwalls.
Here are a couple of pics I took when I visited the hermit's cave a few years ago. I like the irony in the top pic, now that suburbia is within a few hundred metres of the former refuge from society.
